import google results

Postby galweston on Thu Apr 01, 2010 3:29 am

is there a way to import the results of a google search.

For example a competitor uses the same username every time he makes a post.This makes it is to find a lot of his links. What I would like to do is find a way to get all of the resultes into ALM so I can manage them from there.

Hello,

Our application works like you would search manually in your browser for links. So, when you run the Step 1 update in ALM (which gathers links from search engines) , you get the same link results you see when you search manually in browser. What you need to know is that the application gets the results as you would not be logged into your Google account, so the results are not personalized.

Please tell me if this answers your question. If not, give me more details about this (and maybe an example).

Best regards,

Robert

When I go to google and search for "joeusername". I want to download all the results in Google and check for links.

The reason why is when I do this search I find 1000s of links that are not in yahoo explorer or a link:www.domain.com search in Google for the footprint that the SEO leaves behind

Hello,

You can do what you need with Advanced Link Manager by using the Find link partners wizard. Go to Update menu->Find link partners dialog. Select the first option (Find link partners using keywords) and press Ok. In the dialog that will appear, select the desired search engine (Google in your case), enter the keywords you want and select the search depth(number of results) to be retrieved. Press Next and ALM will start retrieving the results from the search engines.

After the retrieval is done, you can filter the gathered URLs and you can add them to your project by pressing the "Add as referrer URLs" button.

After that you can check them using a normal "Verify link status" update.

Let me know if this helps.

Best regards,
Cristi
