Topic: Backlinks tab does not always show data

Hello,

I have noticed sometimes after updating a project that the Backlinks report is blank and shows zeroes in the totals row.  If I look at the Referrers tab there is plenty of data there, but the Backlinks tab has absolutely nothing.  I just ran 6 reports (my first day using this) and 4 of them had data in the Backlinks tab, while the 5th and 6th did not. 

The projects that repeatedly fail to give me Backlinks data are http://www.printlizard.com and http://www.48hourprint.com.  For either project, I have set Google, Yahoo, and MSN as the engines and “Get all search results” has been selected (all other default settings have been left alone, both globally and within the project).  These are the same settings I have used for the 4 successfully run projects, so I don’t quite understand why these 2 projects in particular do not display any data on the Backlinks tab.


Please let me know if I’m missing a setting somewhere or if this is a software error.

Hi Trevor,

Maybe you ran only the first step (Gather links from Search Engines) of the application.

If the "Status" option is "Never Updated" in the "Referrers tab it means that you need to run the second step (Gather link details). To do that, select all Referres with this status (Never Updated) right click on them and select "Update selected referres. After update completes you will have results in the Backlinks tab too.

Please tell me if it works.
